Formerly known as the Paris-Dakar Rally, the event finally returns to the African continent after a 20-year absence, reigniting the passion of motorsport enthusiasts worldwide.
The scheduled agenda includes:
- Operations Center and Scrutineering: The Algarve Stadium (located between Loulé and Faro) will serve as the paddock and central hub, hosting teams, caravans, and technical checks between January 5 and 8, 2027.
- Prologue (January 9, 2027): The official starting gun will sound with the liaison and Prologue stage between Loulé and Faro.
- Stage 1 (January 10, 2027): The first timed special stage will also start in the Algarve, crossing part of the region before heading to Spain and taking the ferry crossing to Morocco.
- Finish Line: The rally will conclude in Marrakech on January 23, marking the historic return of the Dakar to the African continent.
This marks the return of the rally 20 years after the iconic starts in Lisbon (2006 and 2007), this time putting the municipality of Loulé and the Algarve at the forefront of world motorsport.
Once again, the Algarve takes center stage at a major global event.
