These answers cover what the website already does, for visitors and for people with an account. The full rules are in the Terms and conditions and the Legal notice.
The site
What is ://ALGARVE.eu.com?
It is an editorial guide to the Algarve: destinations, places, attractions, beaches, trails, maps and featured articles. It helps you plan a visit. It does not replace authorities, lifeguards or what you find on site.
What is the difference between a destination, a place and an attraction?
A destination is the area you use as a hub (for example Lagos). A place is a smaller location within that area. An attraction is what you visit (a beach, castle, trail or experience). Cards show the place and, in brackets, the destination.
How do I find a site?
Use the menu (Home, Attractions, destinations, places) or Find in the bar: start typing a name and click a suggestion. It is not a full search engine — it is a shortcut to the page.
What are «Choose Area» and «My location»?
In the bar you can pick an area (Lagos, Faro, and so on) to see nearby content. My location uses your phone or browser location, only when you are in the Algarve. On a computer you will almost always choose an area from the list. You can clear the choice whenever you like.
What is Algarve Spotlight?
Editorial articles about the region (stories, awards, what makes the Algarve distinct). They are not a daily news feed.
Can I view the site in Portuguese?
Yes. In the yellow bar, next to the flag, switch between Portuguese and English. Place names follow the page language when a translation is published.
Is the information always accurate?
No. Opening hours, sea conditions, beach lifeguard cover, trails and distances can change. Check on site. See the Legal notice.
Can I book a tour here?
Not yet. You will be able to book activities (boat, kayak, walks and more) on this website later. The guide and listing pages are available now.
I want to offer activities on the portal. How?
See Become a supplier partner and send an application. The team reviews each request. This FAQ does not cover the supplier back office.
Account
Do I need an account to browse?
No. Destinations, places, attractions and articles are public. An account is for reviews, favourites, history and your profile.
How do I register or log in?
In the yellow bar, Login. To register: name, email, password and acceptance of the terms (no Google on sign-up). To sign in: email and password, or Google. After login you stay on the same page. Site administrators do not use this Login.
Where is my account?
After you sign in, your name (and photo, if any) appears in the yellow bar. Click it for My account: profile, photo, password (if you registered with email) and your contributions. If you sign in with Google, change the password in your Google account, not in this panel.
I forgot my password.
Use «forgot password» on Login and follow the email. This only works for accounts created with email and password.
What are favourites and recently visited?
Favourites: save pages to open later (also on your phone, in this browser). Recently visited: shortcuts to pages you already opened on this site. They do not replace an account, but with login your profile is stored on the server.
Reviews and photos
How do I leave a review?
At the bottom of destination, place, attraction and Spotlight article pages. You must be signed in. One review per page: stars, text and up to three photos. The public only sees it after the team publishes it; until then it may show as «under review».
Can I edit or delete my review?
Yes — your own. On the page, use the edit or delete icons. New photos still count toward the limit of three.
Who sees my name?
The name on your profile appears with a published review. Photos you upload may be used on the portal under the terms you accepted when you registered.
