Published every year, the ranking results from a pre-selection of 10 beaches per country, evaluated according to criteria such as natural beauty, accessibility, support services, and general atmosphere.
The list is then reduced to just 30 beaches, which are submitted to an international panel of travelers who determine the final ranking.
Why Monte Clérigo beach ???
Located on the Costa Vicentina, in the far southwest of the country, Monte Clérigo Beach was chosen by European Best Destinations for attracting those seeking "authenticity, nature, and understated luxury, far from crowded resorts."
From a natural standpoint, the beach is part of the Southwest Alentejo and Vicentine Coast Natural Park, which offers plenty of hiking trails to diversify holiday itineraries.
