Expectations are high among the population of this inland region of the Castro Marim municipality, in the eastern Algarve (Sotavento). Years of drought delayed the opening, but with the winter rains, all conditions have been secured for the inauguration.
The Odeleite River Beach holds the status of being the only inland bathing area in the Algarve with a Blue Flag in 2026. Located next to the village of Odeleite, the beach features several support infrastructures, as well as the presence of lifeguards. The first bathing season runs until September 30th.
